Our landscapes have always kept their own records. Water, soil, canopy and wildlife all carry evidence of how an environment has changed over time. The challenge is knowing how to listen, measure what is happening and bring that evidence into the rooms where important decisions are made.
LRX works across this intersection of ecology, data and investment. It restores and protects Australian landscapes while building an evidence base that can demonstrate measurable environmental and financial value. The opportunity for MASS was to create a brand that could make this proposition clear, distinctive and credible, without falling into the familiar visual language of environmental organisations.
We began with brand strategy, defining a strategic narrative around the idea of Giving Voice to Nature. This became the foundation for a brand that treats nature not as a backdrop, but as a source of intelligence. The visual identity builds on this idea, using a distinctive logomark and an extended visual language that references the patterns, systems and interconnectedness found in natural environments.
A bespoke generative pattern system brings this idea to life. Rather than relying on a fixed graphic device, the system can create unique patterns that evolve across applications, reflecting the diversity and complexity of the landscapes LRX works to restore. The result is a brand with both structure and variation, capable of expressing the organisation's scientific rigour while retaining a sense of life and discovery.
The identity was then extended across a selection of branded applications, creating a coherent system that can grow with the organisation. Together, the strategy, identity and generative language give LRX a distinctive position in a category where environmental ambition increasingly needs to be supported by evidence, measurement and long-term thinking.
